Himachal Winter Packing List: Town Stays and Snow Day Trips

Clothing (layers)
- Thermal inner layer, top and bottom
- Fleece or wool mid layer
- Insulated or padded jacket
- Waterproof outer layer for snow days
- Woollen cap, gloves and thick socks
- Scarf or neck gaiter

Footwear
- Waterproof shoes or boots with grip. Wet canvas shoes make a snow day miserable.
- A spare pair of socks in your day bag.

Day bag
- Water bottle or flask
- Snacks
- Sunglasses and sunscreen (snow glare is strong)
- Lip balm and moisturiser
- Power bank
- Tissues and a small towel

Health
- Personal medicines
- Basic first aid kit
- Motion sickness tablets if you get queasy on winding roads

Documents
- ID, bookings and insurance copies

For town stays, one warm jacket and thermals are enough. For snow days, waterproofing is the real difference.
