A package price tells you what the operator charges. Your actual cost includes things the package does not.
Questions that settle what is inside the price
- Is it per person or per vehicle?
- Which meals are included? Many winter packages cover breakfast and dinner at stays only.
- Is the vehicle with you for the entire trip, including local sightseeing?
- Does the price include fuel, parking, toll and permits?
- Who pays for extra nights if a road closes?
Costs usually outside
- Flights or trains to Delhi or Chandigarh and back
- Lunches, snacks and bottled water
- Winter gear if you do not own it: thermals, down jacket, gloves, boots
- Travel insurance with altitude cover
- Hotel nights before and after the trip
- Personal expenses and tips
Build a simple budget
1. Add the package price.
2. Add transport to and from the start city.
3. Add food outside the package.
4. Add gear and insurance.
5. Keep a buffer for delays. Roads can close for a day or more.
We have not listed rates, because winter prices vary by route, group size and vehicle. Ask for the inclusions in writing and compare like with like.
